FAQ

What is cosmetic tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing is semi-permanent makeup. The pigment is implanted under the surface of the skin using either a manual hand tool or a permanent makeup machine.

This is done to look like natural eyebrow hair, eyeliner, lip blush, natural makeup or client’s preference of enhancement such as beauty mark and scalp micro-pigmentation, etc.

(Please understand that every individual’s skin heals and reacts different with all forms of cosmetic tattooing, and for this reason, results can not be guaranteed)

Can I get Permanent Makeup if I have had it done in the past?

Absolutely, but I require an email consultation BEFORE you book your appointment. Keep in mind that this will vary from person to person. The cover-up will most likely require more than two sessions, so additional costs may apply.

I also offer non-laser cosmetic tattoo removal (as with all PMU, results can not be guaranteed).

Please contact me before you book an appointment so that we can determine if you are a good candidate for a cosmetic tattoo cover up or if you would need tattoo removal services beforehand.

If I feel you are not eligible for cosmetic tattooing or non-laser cosmetic tattoo removal, we will not be able to perform any of the above services.

Can I bring my friend/child/partner to my appointment?

Unfortunately, children are not allowed to be present during your appointment. Due to the nature of these procedures, I cannot allow any additional guests to be present in the room during your appointment.

The limit of guests you are allowed to bring to your appointment is 1 but they will not be permitted into the procedure room/area and will have to stay in the lobby/waiting room for the duration of the procedure.

Can I get this procedure while pregnant or nursing?

As a safety precaution, I do not work on pregnant or nursing clients.

Does it hurt?

Everyone has a different pain threshold but discomfort is minimal. I take every precaution necessary (up to 2 topical anesthetics) to keep you comfortable during the entire procedure. I have had clients that are more sensitive than others but I have never had a client stop the procedure due to overwhelming pain.

I have also had clients begin to fall asleep mid procedure so, clearly, there is a natural variation from person to person.

Do I have to shave my eyebrows off before my appointment?

No. I actually prefer that you show up with as much hair as you can tolerate (if possible). The pre-existing hair will allow me to mimic the natural hair growth pattern of your brows.

How old do I have to be to get my brows done?

BY LAW: You must be 18 years of age (or older). I do not work on anyone under 18 years of age (even with parental consent). I do not work on anyone without a valid form of identification. NO EXCEPTIONS.

How long will my cosmetic tattoo last?

Results vary. Typically Nano Brows last 2-3 years, Eyeliner last 1.5-2 years, Lips last 1.5-2 years. Cosmetic tattoos fade faster depending on lifestyle (excessive sun exposure), pigment color choice (lighter colors fade faster), skin care routine (facial treatments and peels) and iron deficiency (pigment is absorbed into the body). As with results, the longevity of your cosmetic tattooing is not guaranteed.
